DAY 1
Pick up from your hotel in Sandakan at 12:00pm, Sandakan Airport at 12:15pm, or Sepilok Area at 12:30 pm (add RM50pp/way). Your journey will be around 2 hours before arriving at The Last Frontier which is located at the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary. Situated on top of a hill, make your way up the stairs to the lodge (please note: you need to climb 600 steps, through the jungle, to reach the lodge). Enjoy views with your welcome drink and enjoy lunch around 2:30 pm. After lunch, freshen up in your room and return back down the staircase for the evening river cruise at 4:00 pm. Spend the next 2 hours along the Kinabatangan River is search of wildlife that call the river their home. If you are lucky you may spot the Proboscis monkey, Orangutan, Pygmy Elepahnts and Hornbills. Once you return from the cruise, have dinner before relaxing to the sounds of the forest around you. Meals- L, D. DAY 2 Begin your morning with a breakfast served overlooking the Kinabatangan river around 7:30am. Morning river cruises can be organized in advance (5:30 – 7:00 am) for an additional fee. After breakfast, get ready for a guided jungle walk around 9:00 am. The hike will take you along the hill ridge, providing additional views of the Kinabatangan River. Return from the hike and enjoy a well-deserved lunch. Relax in your room for free time before your next river cruise around 4:00 pm. Once you return from the cruise, get ready for dinner around 7:30 pm and get a good night’s sleep. Meals- B, L, D. DAY 3 Wake-up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills and have breakfast at 7:00 am. Check-out would be around 7:45 am getting back to Sepilok at 9:45 am, or Sandakan/Sandakan Airport around 10:30 am (add RM50pp/way). Meals- B. * We also offer transfers to/from Semporna or Lahad Datu, just let us know if this is where you are coming from or heading next. |

Inclusive of- 2 nights accommodation in a private ensuite room, meals as mentioned, 2 afternoon river cruises with english speaking guide, guiding trekking, coffee, tea & water refills.
Package excludes- Transfers to/from the lodge, and tips (optional). Please note that a morning river cruise is not included but can be added for RM75pp (minimum 2pax) Special notes: 1. Check-in at the Last Frontier Resort is only available on even dates (i.e 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th etc) 2. The lodge is located up a 100m high hill with approximately 600 steps to reach the lodge. If you are not travelling light then the lodge recommends that you store your main luggage at the storeroom at the bottom of the stairs and just take an overnight bag to your room as the stairs are quite long to climb. |
